Prescott figure skater Alaine Chartrand has taken the silver medal in the national championships. In Kingston on Saturday, January 24th, the talented 18-year-old won silver in the free skate, for a Doctor Zhivago routine that earned her a standing ovation from the crowd. The gold medal went to Gabrielle Daleman of Newmarket, Ontario. The 17-year-old skated an almost perfect performance, landing 5 triple jumps.
