New Medical Officer of Health named for Leeds, Grenville and Lanark

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit has selected who will fill the seat left open by Dr. Paula Stewart as she retires.

Dr. Linna Li has been announced as the organization’s next Medical Officer of Health.

Li has a history with our region, having worked here for part of her residency early in her career. She’s also worked with Toronto Public Health and the Grey Bruce Health Unit.

“We are very pleased to have Dr. Li take a leadership role with our local public health unit”, says Board of Health Chair Doug Malanka. “I believe she brings many strengths that will serve the LGL region well.”

“We look forward to Dr. Li’s introductory visits to all of the local municipalities,” Malanka continues, “and a successful future working together to build even stronger partnerships between the Health Unit and municipalities.”

Li will initially be considered the Acting Medical Officer of Health, until her promotion is approved by the Minister of Health. She starts in her new role on September 1st.
