North Grenville closing stretch of Rail Trail for eight weeks

Some Kemptville residents might want to find a new walking trail to use for a few weeks.

The Municipality of North Grenville has announced work being done on the Rail Trail, including getting rid of some overgrown brush, replacing a more than 100-year-old culvert, and other safety improvements.

While that work is being done, the stretch between Hagan and Van Buren Street will be closed to the public.

Staff from the Municipality say a detour has already been set up with signage, taking residents south on Hagan Street towards Van Buren before returning to the trail.

The closure is expected to last for eight weeks.
