Kemptville Business Improvement Area shares tips to make Old Town more dog friendly

With hundreds of dogs passing through Downtown Kemptville, the Old Town Kemptville BIA says businesses should take advantage of opportunities to be dog-friendly.

They say that leaving a bowl of fresh water outside your business is one of the best ways to do so. They add that water should be changed frequently. They also suggest keeping a bag of healthy dog treats on hand, and have dog-friendly merchandise available for purchase. They also suggest having free, branded pet waste bags available for customers.

They also suggest that businesses that are dog friendly to promote themselves as such. They say to post on social media and have signs that they are dog friendly in their front window. Hosting special events, like promotions where proceeds go to a local dog shelter, would also be helpful.
