Health Unit warning of scam callers claiming to have COVID test results

“We will never ask for your SIN, and if you are ever unsure if it’s us – you can always call our main line to confirm.”

That’s from the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit’s Facebook page.

The organization says it’s received reports of a scammer calling people in our region, claiming to be a Public Health worker with the victim’s COVID-19 test results.

This isn’t the first time this year the organization has dealt with scammers.

In February, the organization posted a similar warning about someone claiming to be a Health Unit employee calling people in our region.

If you suspect you’ve received a scam call, or you need to get in touch with the organization for any other reason, the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit’s website has a phone number you can call.
