Rotary Club of Kemptville organizing Canada Day Parade

If you want to shine a light on your business or other organization, you’ll have a chance in a few weeks to include it in a Canada Day Parade.

The Rotary Club of Kemptville announced plans to host the parade late last week.

Anna Van Adrichem-Rochon, the club’s VP of Public Relations, says the parade’s route is still being decided.

“The route has not been finalized yet,” she says, “but the expectation is that it will pass through the downtown on a similar route as the Santa Claus parade, except the pace will be much slower.”

Adrichem-Rochon says there’s no fee to watch the parade, or to take part. If you want a float in the parade, you’ll need to register in advance and describe your float.

“This is required for the placement of the floats,” she says. “A large transport behind a scout group is not a good idea, or two floats with music behind each other doesn’t work well either.”

The event will begin at 4:00 PM in Kemptville on Canada Day.

If you’re interested in having a float in the parade, you can email Adrichem-Rochon at [email protected] to register.
