“Kemptville Street Piano” public concert series begins May 29th

If you’re looking for an excuse to get out of the house with your kids this weekend, the first in a new series of free outdoor concerts is happening in downtown Kemptville.

An Ottawa-area band called the Left Turn Trio will be performing at the first ever “Kemptville Street Piano” show.

According to organizer Lisa Poushinsky, the concert will coincide with the unveiling of an outdoor piano that anyone in the community can use during their free time throughout the summer.

“The Left Turn Trio will march their way into our hearts as we parade to a secret location,” Poushinsky says, “where the Street Piano will be revealed in all its painted glory.”

The piano itself is being painted by Susanne Larner, an artist in Oxford Mills who won a design contest run by a local newspaper.

If you’re interested in using the piano yourself, Poushinsky says its location will be made public after the concert.

The first show in the concert series is scheduled for May 29th at 2:00 PM, in downtown Kemptville.

After that, shows are scheduled every Sunday until the end of August, and Poushinsky says they’ll all be free to watch.
