UCDSB Board of Trustees honors victims of Texas shooting

“Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas is living in unimaginable and unfathomable horror today and this week.”

That’s John McAllister, a member of the Board of Trustees for the Upper Canada District School Board’s (UCDSB).

McAllister spoke about the shooting before a moment of silence to honor its victims at a Board of Trustees meeting Wednesday evening.

“19 sets of moms and dads, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and friends are mourning the loss of these innocent children and one staff member,” McAllister said. “They are gone, inexplicably.”

McAllister went on to say he hopes local kids and teachers still feel safe attending school going forward.

“May all our schools, here and everywhere, be secure and safe havens for our students and staff,” he said.

“Robb Elementary School is grieving terribly, and in this minute of silence, let us remember them in our reflections, and our prayers.”
