If your child has dreams of playing for the Toronto Raptors, a summer camp program coming to our community in a few weeks might be their first step on that journey.
Above the Rim Basketball School, an Ottawa-based organization that runs sports programs for kids in our region, is hosting a series of week-long day camps this July.
Kids who sign up will have the chance to learn fundamental basketball skills like dribbling, free throw shooting and defense, and will get to play against other kids near their age and skill level.
The camps are running across three weeks in July, with options for kids as young as 7 and as old as 15. Kids will be playing in the St. Michael Catholic High School gym in Kemptville.
Signing your child up for the first week, open to kids ages 7-10, will cost $153.50, as will the second week for kids ages 11-15.
The third camp week, for kids ages 7-13, will cost $215, and kids will meet for two extra hours that week and get a pizza lunch that Friday.
