Kemptville 73’s hosting annual “Do It For Daron” fundraising game February 18th

When the team hosts the Nepean Raiders later this week, the Kemptville 73’s will also be raising money for an Ottawa-based nonprofit.

At Friday’s game, players from both teams will be wearing purple jerseys, as part of a partnership with “Do It For Daron,” (DIFD) an initiative from the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health. The initiative works to raise awareness for the mental health issues young Canadians face, with in-person programs and online apps to teach young people about managing mental health struggles.

The 73’s organization has supported DIFD in the past, hosting a game benefitting the initiative annually since 2013. Because of COVID-19 safety restrictions in Ontario, no game benefitting the initiative was held last year, and the arena will be at half capacity for this year’s game.

Players hit the ice at the North Grenville Municipal Centre on February 18th, at 7:30 PM.
