Deadline approaching for Upper Canada District School Board book giveaways

Our local school board is celebrating Indigenous authors in a giveaway next week.

The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) is giving away four packs of books to local families, as part of Family Literacy Day.

The event, first celebrated in Canada in 1999, is meant to encourage kids and their parents to read together, to develop childhood literacy.

Two packages of books are meant for older, high-school aged kids, while the other two are intended for younger readers. All the books being given away are written by Indigenous authors.

To enter the giveaway, visit the UCDSB Facebook page. You need to either be a student at a UCDSB school, or have a child that attends one, to enter. The winners are being decided on January 27th.
