Central Canada Hockey League pauses season until January 28th

The Kemptville 73’s won’t be playing for the next few weeks.

The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) has temporarily paused its season, as a result of the Ontario government’s recently announced return to a modified Step Two of the provincial Reopening Plan. Per the new restrictions, nearly all sports facilities are closed unless they’re being used for Olympic or Paralympic training.

The league says games will resume on January 28th, and teams are expected to still play a full 55 game season. “Our full play-off schedule will follow,” the organization says, “giving our players a complete season despite this unplanned interruption of play.”

The organization is thanking everyone who helps run the league’s teams for their work and for following public health guidelines, and the fans for their patience and support over the coming weeks.
