Kemptville Farmers’ Market donates $5,000+ to Salvation Army, other local organizations

The Kemptville branch of the Salvation Army received a donation of over 500 pounds of food this week.

The donation comes from the Kemptville Farmers’ Market, which ran two “Jack Frost Fair” fundraising events earlier this month and late in November. Items from local artisans and businesses were sold at the events, with the proceeds going towards charity.

The organization also donated $1,600 in cash to the Salvation Army food bank. Another $620, raised from selling raffle baskets full of gifts, was also donated to the charity. Additionally, the Farmer’s Market donated $1,500 from the Jack Frost Fair fundraisers to both Big Sky Ranch, a no-kill animal shelter based in Kemptville, and the House of Lazarus food bank in Mountain.

In a Facebook post, the Farmer’s Market is thanking everyone who came to the Jack Frost Fair events for their help making these donations possible. “Thank you to everyone: customers, vendors, volunteers, and committee members for making our charitable efforts so successful,” the organization says.
