Last KDH Hey Day 50/50 draw scheduled for December 28th

As we enter the last two weeks of 2021, the Kemptville District Hospital Auxiliary is organizing one final fundraising event of the year. The last of the Hospital’s monthly Hey Day 50/50 draws is happening on December 28th.

Jolene Stover, one of the draw’s organizers, says the event has been the backbone of the hospital’s fundraising efforts over the past two years. “The pandemic has been so hard on our dedicated volunteers,” Stover says. “For safety reasons, their gift shop and coffee bar remain closed.”

“They have had to cancel the epic Hey Day Garage sale for two years,” Stover continues. “This major fundraiser has been a huge loss. Sadly the volunteers have not been able to do what they do best: be there for the patients and staff at the hospital.”

Half of the money spent on tickets goes into the prize pool, and the rest goes towards the Hospital. Stover says the Hospital will spend its cut of the money purchasing new equipment and replacing old, out of date technology.

The prize pool for the draw is currently more than $3,000. Tickets cost $10 for a pack of 10. Bulk discounts for packs of 60 and 200 tickets are also available. If you’re interested in participating in the draw, visit the Hospital’s website to buy tickets. The deadline to enter is 11:59 PM on December 27th.
