Oxford Village developers donate $1,000 to Kemptville Youth Centre

“The need is there and is growing dramatically.”

That’s Gilles Brisebois, the Vice President of Oxford Village Incorporated (OVI), speaking about the Kemptville Youth Centre’s need for support from the community. Brisebois’ company, which is currently working to build an affordable housing development in Kemptville, made a $1,000 donation to the Youth Centre December 15th.

“Our youth are our future,” Brisebois continues. ““OVI would like to challenge local businesses to support the Kemptville Youth Centre at this time of the year.”

The Kemptville Youth Centre is a nonprofit organization that runs youth employment workshops, after school programs for kids, and other projects designed to support local children and keep them off the streets.

Barb Tobin, the Youth Centre’s Operations Manager, says the money will be put into the organization’s general operations fund, helping to keep the building open year-round and pay for expenses like heat and utilities. “This donation will help support the Centre’s mandate to provide a safe space for community youth to gather and spend time with their peers,” Tobin says.
