The International Plowing Match wasn’t held in 2021, but preparations are underway for next year’s event in North Grenville. The municipality held a ceremony Friday morning unveiling the sign marking where the match will be held.
People within the municipality are excited for what the event will do for North Grenville. ““An event of this scale will require significant involvement and engagement from our community,” says Councillor Doreen O’Sullivan, who also works with the event’s volunteer committee as co-chair. “We have already had an overwhelming number of people step forward to volunteer. If you want to be involved with this historic event, please reach out.”
This will be the first International Plowing Match since 2019. A 2020 match was being organized in Lindsay, but was postponed and eventually cancelled altogether because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
