SD&G OPP: “Stuff a Cruiser” food drive raised $5,000+, 8,000+ pounds of food

The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP detachment says this year’s “Stuff a Cruiser” food drive saw “amazing results”.

The food drive, an annual tradition for more than a decade, saw police collecting cash and other donations for local food banks throughout the region on November 13th. Donations were collected in multiple areas, including Winchester, Chesterville, and Morrisburg.

The three locations in Dundas County collected $2,042 in cash and 3,500 pounds of food for Community Food Share, a Winchester-based non profit that provides food and other essential products to people who struggle to afford them. The total amount raised came out to $5,467 and over 8,000 pounds of food.

The detachment’s Media Relations Officer, Tyler Copeland, says the drive was a huge success. “The SD&G Auxiliary unit was excited to be part of another generous day in the Communities of SD&G,” Officer Copeland says, “as they pulled together to help people in need.”
