North Grenville is accepting nominations for its 2021 Civic Awards.
The award program, which began in 2009, recognizes people and organizations for volunteer work in the community. Past winners include Kemptville Youth Musical Theatre Company organizer Barbara Lacelle and Kemptville 73’s announcer Brian Wilson.
Mayor Nancy Peckford says the awards have been massively impacted by the pandemic. “We recognize that COVID-19 has changed how community groups and individuals have contributed to our community in this past year,” says Mayor Peckford, “and these awards give Municipal Council a chance to recognize those community leaders that have stepped up in 2021.”
Awards are being given for a number of categories, including Arts & Culture, Environment, and Heritage. Three individuals ages 25 and older, as well as one group, will receive an award in each category. Nominations are open until November 29th.
