Upper Canada District School Board spends $11.7 million on COVID safety measures

With a new school year on the horizon, the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) is spending big to prepare for the return to in-person learning.

In a release, the UCDSB announced today their investments into student safety, ahead of the return to in-person learning. The board has spent 10 million dollars on COVID safety measures, including touch-free sensors to open doors and replacing water fountains with water bottle refilling stations.

An additional 1.7 million dollars in funding was spent to purchase HEPA air filters. The board has purchased more than 2,000 filters, with 1,996 set to be installed in schools in time for the start of the school year.
