North Grenville Municipal Centre And Kemptville Pool To Open Monday

Municipal staff in North Grenville are preparing to open a number of public amenities.

Starting Monday, the North Grenville Municipal Centre will be open to the public from 9am-4pm, Monday through Friday, as part of step 1 of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen.

Councillor Doreen O’Sullivan is the municipality’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Liaison, and she says Step 1 also gives the green light for the Kemptville Pool to open, after being closed all of last summer.

“We had more time this year to get everything organized,” O’Sullivan said. “I can’t express my appreciation more to the department of Parks, Recreation and Culture for setting all this up.”

O’Sullivan says many of the pool’s programs from Aqua Fitness, to Aqua Zumba have been cancelled this year, to allow more time for leisurely swims for families.

Those looking to go for a swim will have to pre-register for a 45-minute swim block.

O’Sullivan says YMCA Summer Camps will also be returning.

“There will be limited capacity and social distancing, and the kids in the summer camps will also have access to the pool during those camps,” O’Sullivan said.

Meanwhile, registration for swimming lessons will open 14 days prior to the start of each program.

However, the municipality will not be providing Bronze Level Certification this year for those looking to become lifeguards.

For information on pool hours, and programs, you can head to North Grenville’s website.
