The 2021 Local Virtual Business Expo is being launched in North Dundas.

Economic Development Officer for the township Stephen Mann says they are looking for local businesses to showcase their products and services, and to explain the importance of shopping local.

“Businesses will have an opportunity to create short videos of themselves and the idea is to tell the public why they are wonderful and why you should know about them, and if you don’t, you should,” Mann said.

All through June, the township will be accepting video submissions for the expo, and starting next month they will be releasing videos on their Facebook page.

In past years, the Expo has been held in person, but it was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Mann says that’s why this year, they opted to go virtual.

“As a municipality we are limited in what we can do directly to help businesses, but with this effort, offering them free advertising essentially is a great step in that direction,” Mann said.
