North Grenville To Celebrate Canada Day 2021 Virtually

For a second straight year, virtual Canada Day celebrations will be held in North Grenville.

The Kemptville District Community Association announced earlier this week that they have tons of events, contests, and activities planned to help ring in the country’s 154th birthday.

Board Member Shannon Lever says they decided to stick with virtual celebrations this year for the health and safety of residents.

“We weren’t able to see into the future so, this allows us one more year to follow through on a virtual Canada Day,” Lever said. “We just hope people are looking forward to it, and that they know that hopefully next year, we will be back in person.”

Canada Day celebrations will include a house decorating contest, a business decorating contest, trivia activities, a colouring contest, a scavenger hunt and a restaurant challenge.

Lever says they will be working with the municipality to ensure all health protocols are met.

“We’re all about collaboration and working with different businesses, and the municipality,” Lever said. “I think everyone just felt it was a better idea and a safer option for North Grenville.”

The entire celebration will be broadcast on Moose FM, along with local music, and on-air special guests.

Lever says more announcements will be coming in the coming weeks.

“I think everyone could use a little bit of laughter and something to look forward to, so we just want to bring the community together, support one another, and hopefully have a great July 1st,” Lever said.
