Resident and former Mayor of North Grenville asks questions about college plan

A former Mayor of North Grenville is asking important questions about the prospect of the Municipality taking over operations of Kemptville College. In a letter to the North Grenville Times, Bill Gooch asked what costs would be incurred and transferred to tax payers if municipal staff were added to handle management of the campus.

In a recent interview with Juice FM, Chief Administrative Officer Brian Carre said municipal staff would not be tasked with handling college affairs. Instead, they would look at following the model used when the municipality took over The Ferguson Forest Centre. It is run by a non-profit organization. Minister Jeff Leal is expected to rule on the facilitator’s recommendations by the end of January.
