Police to crack down on gangs as they investigate another shooting

Ottawa Police are investigating two shootings that occurred within 15 hours yesterday; one on the corner of Bank and Slater, and a drive-by in the city’s west end near Baseline and Woodroffe. The Ottawa Sun reports police believe both of these shootings were gang-related. On Boxing Day, a man was shot in the foot outside the Tanger Outlet Mall in Kanata. He refused to cooperate with the Guns & Gangs Unit. Police say they will be cracking down on gun-carrying gangsters in the new year; there have been 48 shootings in the city in 2014.
