North Grenville residents have a chance to exchange their old garbage bag tags for new ones.
The municipality announced it will be open to the public on Saturday, March 20 and Saturday, April 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for residents who can’t come during regular hours from Monday to Friday.
The additional dates are specifically for the exchange of bag tags or refunds, and all other services will be provided during regular hours.
“We understand the new waste and organics program is a significant transition for the community and we want it to be as smooth as possible,” said Mayor Nancy Peckford.
The new waste management program began in February and introduced the green bin program and bi-weekly garbage collection.
The municipality adds that in the first month of the new waste program, it diverted an average of 3 tons of organic waste per day from the landfill.
