Local communities to benefit from Rural Economic Development Program funding

The province is trying to help communities in Eastern Ontario boost tourism, attract investment and create jobs with the Rural Economic Development program. The Prescott Business Improvement Area Board of Management will receive up to $10,000 to improve streetscaping and signage downtown.

In Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry, the County will receive up to $58,500 to build a new interactive website that brings their regional marketing plan to life.

The City of Brockville will receive up to $47,500 to develop a marketing and outreach strategy for the Aquatarium, a 25,000 square foot interactive, learning and discovery centre located on the shore of the St. Lawrence River. The strategy will support the long-term sustainability of the facility, create jobs and support regional economic growth.
