No final exams for high school students in UCDSB for 2020-2021 school year

The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) has decided that there will be no final exams for secondary students at the end of any quadmester for the 2020-2021 school year.

The board says student grades will be solely based on the specific learning activities and assignments delivered in each course.

The UCDSB also says the Ministry of Education has reduced the required number of community involvement hours to 20 hours for this school year instead of 40. They have also provided more flexibility for types of activities that can count toward these hours.

Students expecting to graduate this school year will still need to complete the Grade 10 Literacy Test, according to the UCDSB. The test has been reinstated this school year after not happening last year due to school closures. The test will be administered in the spring of 2021.
