The 40th anniversary Terry Fox Run will be done a little differently this year.
Member of the organizing committee Steven Paterson says this year the registration and pledging will be the same as past years but the run itself will happen at the participants own time and location.
“So we won’t have the event held at the Ferguson Forestry Centre this year. It’ll be any participant can find their own time and location to go on a run at their own pace and they could take a video or a picture of themselves on the run and they could post it to our Facebook page.”
The run is scheduled for September 20th and Paterson says runners can go out that day or any day that week.
Paterson says as an incentive to sign up, people that register between tomorrow and the end of May will have a chance to win either a 40th anniversary Terry Fox Run t-shirt or Terry Fox replica running shoes with Terry Fox shoelaces from Adidas.
Paterson thanks all of the participants throughout the years and says any donation is a big donation.
