Limerick Forest closes to the public

Limerick Forest is now off limits. The 6000-hectare community forest, owned and managed by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, is closed to all users.

The announcement was made on the Limerick Forest website yesterday, citing the COVID-19 pandemic as the reason behind the decision.

The notice states that ‘the forest will re-open to everyone as soon as possible.’

Forest Manager Geoff McVey says he realizes it’s not an ideal situation, with people needing to get outside to relieve stress levels. He noted that although some of us remain healthy, others are not so lucky, and now is not the time for non-compliance.
