Check out wait times before cross-border shopping, says CBSA

The Canada Border Services Agency advises cross-border shoppers to plan ahead before travelling on Black Friday. The CBSA advises travellers to travel outside of peak traffic periods if possible and to check border wait times on the CBSA’s Web site or on Twitter.

Travellers can also consult the Forecasted Border Wait Times Tool that provides historical wait times for the 26 busiest ports of entry. Travellers can also help speed up processing by ensuring that they have proper identification for everyone in their vehicle readily available upon arrival at the primary inspection booth and have receipts for purchases in hand.

The sales happen on Friday but peak travel time at the border crossing is expected to be on Monday, December 1st between 4 and 5pm as travellers return home.
