Deputy Mayor Ken Finnerty says a fond farewell after 25 years

Finnerty has made his fond farewell. At the final meeting of this municipal council, Deputy Mayor Ken Finnerty listed some of his finest memories of his past several years on council, including the building of the North Grenville Municipal Centre, where his was the deciding vote. A man of few words, they are usually very well chosen and memorable. Here was his parting note:

Council and staff members expressed their appreciation for Finnerty’s guidance and devotion to the municipality over the past few decades.

Mayor Gordon said the Public Works department will be lost without his extensive knowledge of every pipe and shut-off valve in the township. Councillor Sutton said he has come to understand that Finnerty knows everything about North Grenville because his family was so heavily involved in making its history. Councillor Tobin said she will miss his unexpected questions at the Council table. As usual when Finnerty is in charge, the meeting was short and sweet. And for the last time, the 25-year-veteran of town council had the final word:
