Ontario schools to close for two weeks after March Break

Publicly funded schools across the province will be shut down for two weeks, following March Break. Premier Doug Ford, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Education Stephen Lecce made the announcement today.

The unprecedented move is in response to the COVID-19 pandemic declared earlier this week by the World Health Organization.

The decision was made based on advice from Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, and the experts at the COVID-19 Command Table.

Ontario schools have been ordered to remain closed from March 14 through to April 5.
