Dance showcase to bring in dollars for Jumpstart

Kemptville Infinity invites the public to a performance on Saturday. The dance showcase is being held at the Urbandale Arts Centre, from 2:30 to 3:30pm.

Admission is by donation, with all proceeds going to the local chapter of Jumpstart. The charity provides funding for kids in North Grenville to participate in sports and activities.

Mary-Anne Leang, co-owner of Infinity, says her daughter Amanda Leang came up with the idea. She explained Amanda is passionate about fundraising for Jumpstart. Leang noted it stems from growing up with a lot of foster siblings who didn’t have the opportunity to participate in sports and activities due to family circumstances.

Local dancers put on the showcase for the first time last year, bringing in $400 for the charity.

A total of 10 dancers will be performing a variety of styles, including musical theatre, lyrical, hip hop and contemporary.

The event also includes a bake sale, to raise additional funds.
