Food Basics wins top customer service award

It’s the Stanley Cup of the retail food industry. Food Basics in Kemptville won the Customer Promises Award. The ceremony was held today.  

The store is one of four across Ontario to win the award this quarter. Winners are determined by the customers, who vote online for their favourite place to shop. 

The award recognizes cleanliness, freshness, availability of products and friendliness of staff. 

Manager Warren Monk says this is the second time the Kemptville store has claimed the prize. The first Customer Promises Award was presented in 2014 and both plaques will hang side-by-side in the store.

Monk noted all the credit falls to the employees. He explained their dedication to excellent customer service is over the top. 

Each employee was presented with a gift certificate and pin in recognition of their efforts.

The award also comes with a trophy, which will be on display at the store for the next month.
