Emergency services rushed to help a grade 12 International student at North Grenville District High School on Monday afternoon. The North Grenville Fire Service assisted emergency services personnel on the scene, where sources say the young man had collapsed during basketball practice and was having difficulty breathing. As the patient was apparently in cardiac distress, fire crews helped to perform CPR and they used a defibrillator before sending him to hospital. He is currently in Ottawa at the Heart Institute, undergoing tests.
