Many local citizens are expected to turn up at the Open House to voice their concerns over the Energy East project, and ask how it will (or will not) benefit our community, and how our local drinking water be protected, etc. Ben Powless of Ecology Ottawa will be in attendance, as well as representatives from Sustainable North Grenville. Both the CBC and the New York Times posted stories last night about TransCanada’s new PR firm, which is strongly urging the Energy East group to seek out advocates for its pipeline project, to counteract the effect of outspoken environmentalists.
