Sirens and fire engines got the attention of many people in Old Town Kemptville Monday afternoon. First responders were called to North Grenville District High School to attend to a male youth who was having difficulty breathing. North Grenville Fire Chief Paul Hutt explains sometimes it’s ambulance, sometimes fire, sometimes police first on scene in a medical emergency. Fire Service personnel assisted EMS with a male patient who appeared to be in cardiac distress. They did CPR and used a defibrillator and the patient was taken to hospital. There is no word on the young man’s condition at this time.
