Kemptville Pride 2.0 is less than six months away. The second annual parade is set for June 6 and organizers are hoping to make it a week-long celebration of the LGBTQ2+ community.
Communications Coordinator Fiona McKenney says over 2,000 people took part in Kemptville Pride last year and the goal is to double that in 2020. She noted organizers received a lot of positive feedback about the event.Â
The first fundraiser for Kemptville Pride is happening on February 2 at Geronimo Coffee House. The Love is Love Photo Booth runs from 9:00am to 2:00pm.Â
McKenney says people can bring someone they love – a spouse, child or pet – and get professional photos taken by a local freelance photographer for a minimum $5 donation.Â
She says ideas are in the works for this year’s event, including an opportunity for people to try out drag and yoga in the park. Â
Kemptville Pride is volunteer driven and funded entirely by community donations.Â
