A school bus driver in Carleton Place learned an ‘expensive lesson’ on Monday. OPP East tweeted about the incident this morning. The post states that an officer spotted the driver texting behind the wheel.
There were no students on board at the time. The driver was charged with distracted driving, resulting in a $615 fine, the loss of three demerit points and a three-day licence suspension.
