Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement. A significant winter storm is expected on Saturday. A low pressure system will impact southern Ontario and rain, freezing rain and snow are all possible.

Significant rainfall amounts are expected north of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario and freezing rain is expected to affect most areas from east of Lake Huron to eastern Ontario.

Travel may be impacted by the storm. Environment Canada says there is still uncertainty about which areas will be hit the hardest.

The Ontario Storm Prediction Centre continues to monitor the situation and warnings may be issued later this week.
