Update: One Person dead in Ottawa Shooting

Update 5: Multiple media outlets are reporting that police say they believe it was a targeted attack.

Update 4: Multiple media outlets are reporting that one of the victims was under the age of 18 and transported to CHEO. The victim is reportedly in stable condition.

Update 3: One person is dead in the shooting in Ottawa and several others are injured.

Ottawa Police has issued a statement saying officers are continuing to investigate the shooting from earlier this morning. Police say several people have been injured with three being transported to hospital with serious injuries and one person has been confirmed deceased.

Police continue to search for the suspect behind the shooting right now. While this is not considered an active shooter situation, the suspect does remain at large and is not in custody, according to police.

 

Update 2: OPS Have closed Gilmour Street is closed from Lyon to Kent.

Update 1: Reports coming in that at least 3 people have been transports to hospital in serious condition

 

The Ottawa Police Service says multiple people have been injured in a downtown shooting this morning.

According to police, the incident took place on Gilmore Street, just off Bank street.

The Ottawa Police tweeted that they were responding to a shooting in the area at about 7:35 a.m. ET.

The area is about a kilometre south of Parliament Hill.

Police are asking people to avoid the area.
