North Grenville District High School is getting into the holiday spirit. The Student Activity Council (SAC) ran a food drive for two weeks, which wrapped up on Friday. Over 1,000 non-perishable food items were collected.Â
SAC co-leader Jasmine Friedrich-Yap says the food is going to the Salvation Army. She noted some classes got pretty competitive and one class in particular went from 40 cans to 250 in a single day. Friedrich-Yap explained it was very successful.Â
She says the community supports the school throughout the year, so when given the opportunity, the students should support the community.Â
SAC runs fundraising initiatives throughout the year, including bringing in dollars for Neon Night for Childhood Cancer in September.Â
