Comfort Inn moves forward at Colonnade

Plans are progressing to build a Comfort Inn at Colonnade. The matter was discussed during Committee of the Whole last night. Committee of Adjustment will consider a minor variance application for the project tonight, to exceed the maximum building height.

Phil Gerrard, Director of Planning and Development, says the land has been purchased and the hotel is moving toward site plan approval.

He noted that the next steps are completion of the site plan and applying for a building permit. Gerrard explained if the developer is diligent, the project could break ground in the spring.

The Comfort Inn, featuring 74 rooms, will be located at the corner of Ryan’s Well and County Road 19, beside Mark’s and across from Canadian Tire.
