Christmas BBQ to bring in funds for Salvation Army

A burger hot off the grill could help melt those winter blues and people in need. The annual Christmas BBQ is set for Thursday at the North Grenville Fire Hall. The event starts at 11:30am and wraps up at 1:00pm. Royal LePage is sponsoring the BBQ, in partnership with the fire department and OPP.

Constable Annie Collins says the BBQ is by donation, with all proceeds going to the Salvation Army. She noted unwrapped toys, non-perishable food items and monetary donations will be accepted.

Last year’s Christmas BBQ brought in $872.

Collins explained there’s a lot of families who rely on the Salvation Army at this time of year. She says it’s a tight crunch for some families, so it’s important for the community to come together to ensure everyone has a wonderful Christmas. The Fire Hall is located at 259 County Road 44 in Kemptville.
