Canadian Tire raises $1,355 for local woman battling cancer

Christine Johnson got a helping hand from Canadian Tire. The local business auctioned off a TV and drill set, donated by owner Frank Hoffman, to raise money for the Kemptville woman. Fundraising efforts ran for the past few weeks and wrapped on Friday. A total of $1,355 was raised.

Johnson was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer in March. She has been off work since May. Johnson is a single mom with three boys.

Krystle Saunders, one of the organizers, says the Canadian Tire team bands together for people in need. She noted cancer is something that touches everyone, including her co-workers.

The Kemptville Cancer Support Group set up a GoFundMe page for Johnson.
