North Grenville is participating in Operation Gobble Gobble. The initiative will see Thanksgiving hampers delivered to local families in need.
Local coordinator Craig McCormick says organizer Lea Maurice put out the call to area communities. He explained it seemed like a good fit for North Grenville, so he started making calls. Six local businesses have signed on so far.
McCormick says donations are still being accepted. He noted every dollar will go towards filling the hampers.
Five other communities are taking part in Operation Gobble Gobble: Perth, Smiths Falls, Carleton Place, Stittsville and Almonte.
McCormick has partnered with the Salvation Army and will be delivering the 40 hampers next week. For more information, or to get involved, email [email protected].
