Community use activities cancelled at UCDSB schools

Community use activities at local schools are cancelled this week. The move follows work-to-rule action by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), starting today.

The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) says custodial staff may not be available to set up, take down or clean the facilities.

The board made the announcement on its school’s Facebook pages, including North Grenville District High School, Kemptville Public School, Oxford-on-Rideau Public School and South Branch Elementary School.

CUPE represents several UCDSB employee groups, including educational assistants (EAs), early childhood educators (ECEs), custodial/maintenance staff, clerical staff, library workers and information technology staff.
