KDH Auxiliary celebrating 60 years

The Kemptville District Hospital (KDH) Auxiliary is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee. A 60th Anniversary Tea is set for September 19, from 2:00 to 4:00pm.

Vice President Linda Carnegie says all are welcome.

“It will be a great opportunity to learn more about our history and visit with past and present Auxiliary members and special guests, including past Auxiliary presidents,” she noted.

The auxiliary was formed in 1959, a year before the hospital opened its doors. The auxiliary provides volunteer services to KDH patients, promotes good public relations and raises funds to support the hospital.

Auxiliary members logged 14,117 volunteer hours in 2018 alone. To date, the auxiliary has raised $1.43 million for the hospital.

KDH CEO Frank Vassallo says the auxiliary is a pillar of strength for the hospital and community.

“It’s hard to imagine what KDH would be like without the tireless efforts of the Auxiliary over the years,” he added.

Parking will be free during the event.
