Cahl Pominville retiring after nearly three decades in municipal government

The clerk is hanging up his hat. Cahl Pominville is retiring at the end of November, after nearly 30 years in municipal government. He worked as clerk-treasurer for the Township of Oxford-on-Rideau and accounts clerk for the Town of Kemptville prior to amalgamation.

Pominville also served as a councillor in Kemptville from 1988 to 91. He has been the clerk for the Municipality of North Grenville since its inception in 1998. 

Pominville says the community has changed a lot over the years. He says North Grenville has really grown because of what it has to offer and how its been governed. 

Pominville sat on the Board of Directors of the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks & Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO) from 2008 to 2015. He is an avid sports enthusiast and currently does scouting for the Smiths Falls Bears.

Pominville is looking forward to retirement. He says its all new to him and he’s not sure what he’ll get up to. 

Pominville has officiated hundreds of marriages over the years.
