A Kemptville grocery store was honoured for its local food promotion. Food Basics was presented a Foodland Ontario Retailer Silver Award. The ceremony was held today.
The award was presented by MPP Steve Clark, on behalf of Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Ernie Hardeman.
Food Basics was selected from over 4,250 entries across the province. The awards are the produce industry’s premier competition for excellence in retailer display and promotion in support of Ontario foods.
Clark says the award is made possible by the Asparagus Farmers of Ontario, Ontario Apple Growers, Berry Growers of Ontario, Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Growers’ Association and Ontario Tender Fruit Producers.
Clark extended congratulations to produce manager Cidalia Fox and store manager Warren Monk. He noted this proves that good things grow in Ontario.
